 What's New:

On Sunday, March 8th, four firefighters from East Jefferson Fire Rescue participated in the 19th Annual Scott Columbia Center Stairclimb fundraiser for Leukemia & Lymphoma.  This climb is the largest firefighter competitive event in the world with 1600 registered participants. All firefighters wear full fire gear and climb the 1,311 stairs wearing and using SCBA's.  At 69 flights, the Columbia Tower is the 2nd highest building west of the Mississippi.  The EJFR firefighters raised over $2300 in donations for cancer research.    All four did this climb with a picture of current cancer fighter and EJFR employee Cherie Yarberry attached to their helmets.   On March 21st, climbers from EJFR will be participating in a tower climb in Vancouver, Canada to raise money for the Lung Association.
