East Jefferson Fire Rescue is located on the eastern side of the Olympic Peninsula in Western Washington State. In 2004 several small area departments consolidated to create our current larger and growing organization.       East Jefferson Fire Rescue employs 22 career firefighters with 9 of those certified as Paramedics.  Additionally nine residents and over 40 volunteers supplement the career staff.  Equipped with six engines, four tenders, seven ambulances, two utility vehicles, two brush trucks and five staff vehicles, the department responded to 3,314 calls in 2008.

We respond to a wide variety of emergencies ranging from Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support medical calls to multiple vehicle accidents and commercial structure fires.  In late 2007, the District entered into a contract with Jefferson General Hospital to transport patients from that facility to Bremerton, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia and Everett, Washington hospitals. The District averages approximately 30-40 transfers per month.
